En cine se le llama plano secuencia (long take en inglés y plan séquence en francés) a aquellas tomas que se filman en forma continuada, en la que la cámara se mueve de acuerdo a una estricta planificación y que suele seguir la acción hasta el final de la escena sin cortes ni montajes.
Muy a menudo los mejores directores usan este tipo de narración para lucirse, aunque muchas veces no agreguen demasiado a la historia en sí.
Dice el blog Cinematófilos:
Durante muchos años su duración estuvo acotada por una cuestión tecnológica: un rollo de película no permitía filmar ininterrumpidamente durante más de nueve o diez minutos, por lo que terminado ese lapso había que recurrir, sí o sí, al montaje. El maestro Alfred Hitchcock lo disimuló muy bien en Festín diabólico (Rope, 1948, también conocida como La soga). Todo el film parece un gran plano secuencia, en el que la cámara va hacia algún lugar oscuro -como la espalda de un personaje- para esconder los cortes.
El sí o sí se terminó con la llegada de la tecnología digital, que ya no impone límites de tiempo. El arca rusa (Russkiy kovcheg, Aleksandr Sokurov, 2002) fue la primera película que efectivamente está filmada en un solo plano secuencia, en este caso de 96 minutos.

El blog oficial del sitio de citas Okcupid publicó un interesantísimo informe sobre el rendimiento que tienen las fotos que se suben a este tipo de sites o redes sociales con el objetivo de encontrar pareja.
Algunas conclusiones
♡ No hace falta sonreír, sobre todo en las imágenes de los perfiles masculinos (las chicas quieren misterio). Sí es fundamental que en la foto se establezca un contacto visual.
♡ Las fotos sacadas con celular o webcam tienen un gran rendimiento (sobre todo las de las chicas). La autofoto garpa bastante.
♡ Lo que más les gusta a ellas es que el hombre pose junto a algún animal. Además, las chicas quieren fotos de los hombres sin la remera (sólo para los musculosos).

Los críticos de cine y los periodistas deportivos que le ponen puntaje a los jugadores de fútbol son seguramente los cronistas que más objeciones deben soportar sobre sus opiniones.
Sin embargo, parece que esto no es nuevo. Fíjense sino en el review que le hizo H.G. Wells a Metropolis, la joya del expresionismo alemán, en la edición del 17 de abril de 1927 en el The New York Times.
I have recently seen the silliest film.
I do not believe it would be possible to make one sillier.
And as this film sets out to display the way the world is going,
I think [my book] The Way the World is Going may very well concern itself with this film.
It is called Metropolis, it comes from the great Ufa studios in Germany, and the public is given to understand that it has been produced at enormous cost.
It gives in one eddying concentration almost every possible foolishness, cliché, platitude, and muddlement about mechanical progress and progress in general served up with a sauce of sentimentality that is all its own.
It is a German film and there have been some amazingly good German films, before they began to cultivate bad work under cover of a protective quota. And this film has been adapted to the Anglo-Saxon taste, and quite possibly it has suffered in the process, but even when every allowance has been made for that, there remains enough to convince the intelligent observer that most of its silliness must be fundamental.
Possibly I dislike this soupy whirlpool none the less because I find decaying fragments of my own juvenile work of thirty years ago, The Sleeper Awakes, floating about in it.
Capek’s Robots have been lifted without apology, and that soulless mechanical monster of Mary Shelley’s, who has fathered so many German inventions, breeds once more in this confusion.
Originality there is none. Independent thought, none.
